M-real becomes Metsä Board

Change of name but same great paper.

M-real has changed its name to Metsä Board, following the decision at the Annual General Meeting on 28 March 2012.

Metsä Board is made up of two business areas, Paperboard and Paper and Pulp. What was M-real, Office Papers, is now Metsä Board, Paper and Pulp, the producers of well known office paper and reels brands such as Data Copy, LOGIC, SAVE! and Modo Papers. We remain committed to developing innovative paper solutions for the office and business market.

Metsä Board is part of the Metsä Group and the parent company is Metsäliitto Cooperative. Metsäliitto is owned by 125,000 Finnish forest owners committed to delivering sustainable wood products for future generations. The new name and identity reflects this approach and helps communicate the philosophy of putting the environment at the very heart of the operations. It also gives Metsä Group a common identity to strengthen its visibility in the market.

“Over recent years we have worked hard to transform from a paper company to a profitable paperboard company,” said Mikko Helander, CEO Metsä Board. “Our structural transformation is at a stage where we want to communicate it with the new company name Metsä Board.”

Customers will now start to see the new Metsä logo on their Data Copy, LOGIC and SAVE! reams and boxes. All communication materials will also be using the Metsä logo from now on.
