Data Copy - FAQ

Good Question.

Our paper and environmental experts could go on for ages about what we do and how we do it, but we thought we’d keep it simple. So here are our most popular questions. If you can’t find the answer here, email us at

All about paper …

What should I think about when picking my paper?

Simplicity. If you want an easy life and great results on all your office jobs, you just need Data Copy. It comes in different weights and sizes and is guaranteed for all your office equipment.

But don’t I need specialist papers for different jobs?

These days, the answer is “no”. Data Copy is a fantastic multi-functional paper that delivers great trouble-free performance on both inkjet and laser technology, in either colour or black-and-white. One paper does it all, which means specialist papers are yesterday’s news.

What should I print on my paper?

Anything you like - the possibilities are endless. Obviously you might need to restrain yourself if the boss is around.

Why should I buy Data Copy rather than other papers?

The choice is yours, of course – but you can waste a lot of time kissing frogs before you find your Prince. When you look at Data Copy the benefits stack up: higher performance for hassle-free printing, multi-functional, green credentials, packaging that makes life easy… We reckon the sooner you try Data Copy, the happier you’ll be.

What is the EU Ecolabel?

It’s a voluntary scheme that encourages businesses to produce and market products and services that are kinder to the environment. Data Copy has this certification and you can find the logo on our packaging.

How should I store paper to get fab results?

Happy paper is paper stored in a clean, dry place away from the sun, and is only freed from its protective packaging when you need it. You should avoid damp places to stop curly paper, which can cause jams and misfeeds. Just a bit of care goes a long way.

What’s the easiest way to open a box of Data Copy?

We’ve tried a can opener but we decided it’s far easier to take off the lid. Actually, we’ve also included an easy tear down strip: just pull it down and lift the reams out from the side. No more jamming your fingers into the box. Sometimes, it’s the little things that help make all the difference.

So what’s the Grab-and-Go™ box all about?

Simple really. The comfy strap on top of the box makes it easy to carry the box around the office. It’s available on our A4 boxes in 80, 90 and 100 g/m².

I always seem to be filling the photocopier up. Any suggestions?

Switch onto the NonStopBox. It’s a real speed demon with 2,500 sheets that are unwrapped and ready to go. And, you’ll also be saving on the rubbish that you need to get rid of. The NonStopBox is available in A4 in 75 and 80 g/m².

My arms get tired from all that fiddly hole punching. What should I do?

Order Data Copy two- or four-hole punched paper, available in A4, 80 g/m². Life’s too short to spend it messing with hole punches – let Data Copy take the strain!

What is the WWF Check Your Paper initiative?

This scheme rates the environmental performance of papers to help you choose a sustainable paper. Data Copy has received a score of 90/100 and a rating of ‘Excellent’.

Is all that packaging really necessary?

Yes it is. You might think it uses even more resources and adds to the price. In reality, high-quality packaging actually helps protect paper, reduce waste and saves you money. And, don’t forget it is completely recyclable.

Green questions …

Do all your papers use wood from well-managed forests?

Yep, sure do. We only use wood from suppliers who manage their forest resources properly. More and more of the forests we use are certified to internationally recognised certification schemes. We get them all checked by external experts, so you can be sure it’s all by the book. If you are really interested about the wood used in our papers, please contact us.

Is Data Copy made according to strict environmental guidelines?

It certainly is. Data Copy is in the mill which is accredited with the ISO 14001, the international environmental management system. Data Copy is also FSC® certified and awarded with European EU label.

Are all your papers FSC or PEFC certified?

Data Copy papers are FSC certified.
